Introduction

Eaton Corporation has a global reputation for excellence in all of the markets it serves. From both automotive to aerospace, Eaton has embraced continuous improvement for many years. Globally, every plant must comply with the Eaton Business System and every plant is audited every year against a very strict set of improvement standards. Any gaps or issues have to be addresses rapidly and effectively.

The South Molton site has embraced the Eaton Business Systems for many years and is considered a very advanced plant. The natural next stage of this journey, was to gain further involvement and engagement from the general workforce across the business.

Using the very latest Adult Apprenticeship framework, LEAD has supported this mission and, while fully satisfying the requirements of the EBS, LEAD have been able to integrate the Business Improvement Techniques structure with the EBS content. The qualification framework has provided real recognition of all Eaton employees for the standards they have achieved while also offering quantifiable improvement projects that improve the bottom line. The additional resources that LEAD have provided on a full time basis have also allowed local Eaton Managers to focus on strategic issues while LEAD staff support the deployment of EBS to the wider workforce.
